LedgerStep SBL
This free version has no advertising or payment flow. Email sign-in is required before studying and does not enable LedgerStep cloud sync. Your saved study records, answers and notes stay on your device. Version 1.1.0 introduces optional anonymous usage sharing; earlier versions do not include it. Lessons and practice are included in the installed Android app.
Required account
When you request a sign-in code, we receive your email address, the app identity and connection information to deliver and protect sign-in. Codes expire after ten minutes and can be used once. Signing in records your verified email, app registration and sign-in dates on our shared account server. Accounts are shared with IFQ Quest and other LedgerStep apps; study answers and notes are not uploaded by LedgerStep.
Android stores sign-in credentials in protected app storage. On the web, credentials last for this browser tab's session. Once verified online, a protected saved sign-in can reopen the app offline until its server-issued expiry. Reconnecting checks it again; an expired or rejected sign-in requires you to sign in before continuing. Signing out locks study access without deleting local progress. Privacy, support and backup export remain available without signing in. Sign out from More → Account. You can also delete the shared account there; deletion affects IFQ Quest cloud data and sign-ins across all apps, while local LedgerStep progress and exported files remain. You can contact support for account deletion without using the app. Account registration remains until you delete it. Security code records expire and are removed by routine maintenance.
Optional usage sharing
Sharing is off by default, separately for each app. In More, you can choose to share app opens, screen visits, lesson completions, answer outcomes (correct, incorrect or self-assessed), and timed practice starts and completions. We receive the app identity and version, screen category and event category. We do not send your answers, notes, question text, account details, advertising identifier or a persistent device identifier. There is no advertising or third-party analytics SDK.
Events are sent over HTTPS to our shared server. Up to 100 events are queued. Events expire after 24 hours and are excluded from subsequent uploads. Expired records can remain in device storage while the app is closed; the app removes them when it next opens. Random single-event IDs prevent duplicate counting and are removed by daily maintenance once 2 days old (normally within 3 days). Activity is combined into anonymous daily counts, retained for up to 90 days. Network infrastructure receives normal connection information such as your IP address; it is not saved in the usage dataset.
Turn sharing off in More to stop collection and clear pending events. An upload already received may have been counted. Combined counts have no personal or device identifier and cannot be traced back to you for individual export or deletion. Resetting study progress does not change your sharing choice; app backups never contain the choice or usage queue. Uninstall or Clear storage removes the local preference. Saved information
Lesson completions, question attempts, bookmarks, notes, written responses and the latest practice-exam session are stored privately by the app on this device. If you export a backup, the file contains that information and is saved to the location you choose. Protect files you export; a storage provider you select may sync them under its own terms.
Delete or move your data
More → Reset this paper’s progress removes this paper’s local study data and recovery copies. Android’s Clear storage or uninstall also removes app-private data. Exported files remain where you saved them; delete those separately. You can restore a compatible backup from More.
Links and support
Official source links open external websites, which receive the usual connection information and apply their own privacy terms. If you email support, the email provider and recipient receive your address and message. Do not send passwords or sensitive financial records.
